What Happens at Your First Visit
When you arrive, our front desk team will welcome you and help you get settled. We’ll take photos and comfortable digital scans, review your health history, and note your goals with treatment. Next, you’ll meet with Dr. Gen to discuss findings, options like braces or aligners, and approximate timelines. We’ll outline costs clearly and review payment and insurance details so there are no surprises.
Before you go, we’ll answer every question and share a simple next‑steps plan. No rush, no pressure — just a clear path to a confident smile.
What To Do Before Your First Visit
A little preparation makes day one even easier. Complete your new patient forms ahead of time for a faster check-in. Jot down any questions you want to ask Dr. Gen, and plan for about an hour so nothing feels rushed. Also, be sure to check directions to the office you’ll be visiting (Mayfield Heights, Twinsburg, or Lakewood/Cleveland). If you’re bringing a child, a quick, upbeat preview of what will happen can help them feel relaxed.
What To Bring to Your First Appointment
To keep your appointment efficient, please bring:
- Your insurance card and photo ID
- Any recent dental or orthodontic records (if available)
- A parent or guardian for minors
- Any current retainer, aligner, or appliance

First Visit FAQs
Most first visits take about an hour. This gives us time for photos, digital scans, an exam, and a conversation about your goals and options.
When available, we offer same-day starts for those interested in immediately beginning their orthodontic treatment.
No problem! We can still get started. If your dentist has recent X‑rays or records, bring them when you can. We’ll take the photos and scans we need during your visit.
Absolutely. Parents and caregivers are welcome to join the conversation. If you’re bringing a child, we encourage you to come back with them for the consultation discussion.
If you don’t opt to start treatment right after your consultation, we can usually schedule your start within a few days, depending on the treatment plan and your calendar. We’ll review the timing with you before you leave.
